⁵ Then the Babylonian army went after the king and came to him in the plains of Jericho. All his army ran away from him. ⁶ The Babylonians took the king and brought him to the king of Babylon at Riblah. And Nebuchadnezzar told him how he must be punished. ⁷ They killed Zedekiah’s sons in front of his eyes. Then they put out Zedekiah’s eyes and tied him up in chains, and brought him to Babylon.
